Víctor Fernández Hurtado has been awarded by GEFES with the prize for the Best Theoretical Doctoral Thesis in Condensed Matter Physics 2018. Víctor made his doctoral thesis on “Theoretical description of radiative heat transfer: Exploring the limits of Planck’s law” in the Department of Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and IFIMAC under the supervision of Juan Carlos Cuevas Rodríguez and Francisco José García Vidal.
